Privacy

The short version: essentials.sh is designed so there is almost nothing to have a privacy policy about.

What you put into the tools

URLs you encode, images you upload for favicons or OG backgrounds, and text you type into generators are processed entirely in your browser. They are never transmitted to our servers, never stored, and never seen by us. If you use the REST API or MCP server instead, your request is processed statelessly and the inputs are not retained after the response is sent.

What we do collect

There are no accounts and no advertising on this site. We use Google Tag Manager with Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage — pages visited, referrers, device type, and approximate location. This only happens with your consent: everything is denied by default (Google Consent Mode), and Google sets analytics cookies only after you accept in the banner. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and Google receives at most cookieless, aggregated signals. Analytics measures page views, not tool contents: what you type into the tools is processed in your browser and is not something we set out to collect. Independently of that choice, our server counts page views the way a server log does — page path, country, and referring site, in aggregate. This involves no cookies, no scripts, and nothing that identifies you, and it never leaves our infrastructure. The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes standard connection data (IP address, user agent, requested URL) to deliver and protect the service. Your light/dark theme choice and your consent choice are stored in your own browser's localStorage and never sent anywhere.

Your analytics choice is remembered in this browser only. You can change it above at any time; withdrawing consent stops analytics cookies from this point on.

If any of the above ever changes — for example if we add an account system or collect anything new — this page will be updated before the change ships, not after.
